POST OPERATIVE CARE

POST OPERATIVE CARE

How we care after an Operation is being performed on Elders

Simply put, postoperative care is the care that a patient receives after undergoing a surgical procedure. The Postoperative period includes immediate care. The primary goal of Postoperative care is to prevent infection at the site where the surgery was performed. This will ensure that the incision heals completely. Postoperative nursing care aims to restore a patient’s mental and physical health.

Assessment, diagnosis, planning and evaluation are all part of postoperative care. The extent of the patient’s post-operative care and their surgical procedure will determine how long and what type of care they receive.

A simple procedure can be handled by the patient, but professional nursing care may be required in certain cases, such as spine surgery, hip surgery or cardio surgery.

Patients may require post-operative care. It could be short term or long term. It could also be complex or simple. Divine Home provides postoperative care as an integral part of the healing process.

Our friendly, experienced team is available to answer any questions you may have about the many post-operative support services and care we provide. We also offer quality advice and information.
